TrueBiomeSystem · by Green As It Gets

Field results

Results have to be measured.

The TrueBiome System is evaluated in real production settings, with results reported crop by crop, trial by trial, and with the limitations that matter.

Real crops. Real fields. Measured comparisons.

Each field result below compares a TrueBiome program against the grower's standard production practice under the conditions of that specific evaluation. Results are trial-specific and are not presented as universal production claims.

test plot 2

Two independent test plots run at the same time on one variety in one field, against a single shared control. Reported separately, never averaged.

Measured values

  • Control (grower's standard practice): 20,484 lbs/acre
  • Test plot 1: 24,400 lbs/acre — +19.1% over control
  • Test plot 2: 27,500 lbs/acre — +34.3% over control
  • Two independent tests run at the same time, same variety, same field, against one shared control

How it was measured

Two treated test plots compared against one shared control under the grower's standard practice — same variety, same planting date, same field

Scope and limitations

Two independent tests are reported separately rather than averaged into a single figure the report itself doesn't state. Results are specific to this trial, this field and this season. Precise farm location within the Pisoni Farms operation has not been supplied.

+20%

second-pass comparison

Both figures are reported because the second-pass analysis excludes the first treated rows affected by documented field irregularities.

Measured values

  • Program applied: BioInfuze at 1 lb/acre on August 4, followed by BioShield at 1 lb/acre on August 20, both through the sprinkler system
  • Control (untreated, grower's best practices): 16,829 lbs/acre
  • Treated, all rows: 17,480 lbs/acre — reported as +4% over control
  • Treated, second pass only: 20,194 lbs/acre — +20.0% over control

How it was measured

Treated block compared against an untreated control under the grower's best practices on the same field, with yields recorded across four harvest passes

Scope and limitations

The +20.0% figure excludes the first rows of the treated block, which every observer agreed did not represent the treated crop: those rows received overlapping irrigation from the adjacent cauliflower, and a disease-control spray was skipped on part of the first row. The all-rows figure is +4%. Both are reported here and neither should be quoted without the other. The season carried heavy stress across the whole field — a temperature spike above 80°F followed by more than half an inch of rain, a weak field planted straight after head lettuce, and Red Rib and Sclerotinia pressure in treated and untreated areas alike.

Treatment Protocol 2

Two different TrueBiome treatment protocols were evaluated against the same grower's-best-practices control.

Measured values

  • Duquesne lettuce grown for heart production, 36 hearts per box, on a 6.8-acre plot
  • One field evaluation comparing two treatment protocols against the same control
  • Control — the grower's best practices, with no trial products applied: 1,441 boxes
  • Treatment Protocol 1 — BioInfuze applied at full cotyledon emergence in the greenhouse, followed by the Protocol 1 field treatment: 1,578 boxes — +10% versus the grower's-best-practices control.
  • Treatment Protocol 2 — BioInfuze applied at full cotyledon emergence in the greenhouse, followed by the Protocol 2 field treatment: 1,497 boxes — +4% versus the grower's-best-practices control.
  • All groups harvested on 28 May 2024

How it was measured

Two treatment protocols compared against the same grower's-best-practices control on the same field, all harvested on the same date

Scope and limitations

Source note: The report identifies the control as “Beds 15 to 26” while also describing the reported total as being calculated per six beds. The source report itself states the resulting comparisons as +10% for Treatment Protocol 1 and +4% for Treatment Protocol 2. Those source-reported percentages are presented here without independently recalculating the bed normalization. The evaluation was also intended to examine INSV resistance, but low insect-vector activity during the cool spring meant that question was not tested.

+28%

View full record

Measured values

  • Dry root weight: 0.1075 g per plant treated, against 0.0715 g for the control — reported as a 49% increase
  • Dry leaf weight: 0.1255 g per plant treated, against 0.08275 g for the control — reported as a 51% increase
  • Pre-dried root length: 4.80 in treated against 3.75 in control — 28% longer
  • Treated group: 12 trays, 4,054 plants, 338 plants per tray at 17cc cell size

How it was measured

Treated trays compared against untreated trays raised under the same nursery conditions

Scope and limitations

A nursery evaluation of transplant quality, not a production trial — no field yield was measured, and none should be inferred from it. Four plants per group were sampled. The report states a 49% increase in dry root weight; the figures it prints work out to 50.3%, and that difference has not been reconciled. The report also recommends reducing other biological inputs to better isolate BioInfuze, which implies inputs its own treatment section does not list.

Measured values

  • Dry root weight: 0.731 g per plant treated against 0.636 g control — 14.9% higher
  • Dry leaf weight: 2.928 g per plant treated against 2.81 g control — 4.2% higher
  • Pre-dried root length: 4.85 in treated against 4.55 in control — 6.5% longer

How it was measured

Treated plants compared against untreated plants raised under the same nursery conditions

Scope and limitations

A nursery evaluation of transplant quality, not a production trial — the plants were sampled before transplanting, so no field yield exists for this trial. Five plants per group were sampled. Leaf weights are held down by the tops being cut back for height; the report notes the difference would likely have been larger without that trimming.

Classification — Verified Nursery Trial

How we report evidence

Every result above carries a classification describing what kind of evidence it is.

Verified Trial Result
A measured result from a documented field comparison with an identified treatment and comparison/control.
Observed Field Outcome
A documented field observation that does not meet the same verification standard as a verified trial result.
Verified Nursery Trial
A measured nursery or propagation result. Nursery results do not establish field production or yield.

Outcomes vary by crop, soil, climate, application, management and environmental conditions. A result measured in one trial describes that trial.
